A Rich Fort Wayne history

Early years

In 1921, Herman Rodenbeck founded what is now known as Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Our funeral home was originally located in central Fort Wayne and was operated by the Rodenbeck family until 1968, when Harold Hockemeyer purchased the funeral home and changed the name to Hockemeyer Funeral Home.

Recent history

In 1990, Jim Miller joined Harold and started the Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, which he managed until his retirement in 2014. Our funeral home remained in the same location from 1921-1992. We are now located at 6131 Street Joe Road.
